Watercooler: Fringe Brings Our Girl Home

Posted on December 3rd, 2010 by Cara

Livvie’s home! Poor girl.

Last night, in what had to be the strongest Fringe episode in an already awesome season, Olivia finally managed to cross back over from the alternaverse. And what an escape it was! There were trips back into the isolation tank, Grand Central shootouts, killer confrontations between the hoodwinked Peter and the Mata Hari in his bed, even a great Astrid moment. It was epic!

And while helping her get away cost alt-Broyles an arm and a leg (literally), Liv may be facing an even bigger loss now that she’s back among her people. “She thinks she’s coming back to heaven,” Anna Torv told TV Guide Magazine on the set of next week’s mid-season finale. “She’s walking back with all of this information.” Too bad she’s kind of clueless to the fact that Peter’s been bedding down with her doppelganger.

So when does she find out? Patience, people. Like we said, there is still an episode next week (a grisly one, at that!) and from what we observed during the filming, the truth comes out. And when it does, we’re betting it’s gonna cause a bigger mess than whatever this device Walternate is looking to build.

What did you think of last night’s episode? Would you forgive someone for sleeping with your evil twin from another universe?

I totally would…it was just…the other me….ok maybe not…
But ‘Liv, please forgive the boy…I’ve thought of so many reasons you should forgive him..
…at least you decided to not keep you from the truth…
…and you know you love him….
…and he loves you too!!!!

I think she will forgive him. She knows what it’s like to feel like you’ve been betrayed just like with John Scott in the very beginning. But it’s going to take time and it’s going to hurt. Peter noticed the changes but Alt-Olivia gave the good excuse that after seeing what it was like over there, she was seeing more things in life. I feel bad that Olivia got short-changed though!

Peter should have known, but she’s going to eventually forgive him. Mainly because she was duped by the shapeshifter who took Charlie’s place after it killed him. Beh. That aside, Peter SHOULD HAVE known. Just someone should have known. The “eyes” have it in this case, and grrr. I love Anna Torv, and she’s a fantastic actress. She has me loving Olivia, and hating Fauxlivia… The thing is, you really believe they’re two different individuals — the expression in the eyes are completely different. Olivia’s is always vulnerable, empathetic and kind, while Fauxlivia’s is super-cocky, arrogant, bold and confident. Anna deserves an EMMY!
